Peter and John have always worked well together as a team and they love teaching golf. So where better to entertain a group of keen golfers other than sunny Spain and Portugal? The Iberian climate is certainly more condusive of good golf than cold wet England - but where to go in Spain?
The traditional venues such as the Costa del Sol and the Algarve are inundated with package holidays and crammed courses. But the Costa de la Luz is completely different. An hour East of Faro airport is a marvellous venue for tuition trips, unknown to many, with quiet courses, perfect greens, grass practice grounds and elegant hotels with a traditional Spanish touch. It's just a great place to go!
With the courses, hotels and car hire booked and sorted by John and Peter, there is little for the golfers to do except enjoy the atmosphere and play some golf! The trip is not designed to radically change the swings of any golfer - rather work with what's there and make it better.
That's where the clinics come in handy. Tips about aiming, rhythm, ball position, tactics, short game, putting, are all designed to maximise the potential of golfers, so on the return to England they are able to lower their scores! 'If we can help a golfer get round a course more efficiently- job done' says John.
Apart from the golf there is the overall enjoyment factor. Small groups enable new friends to be met over dinner each evening, and the careful planning of the pairings each day can only help build a great team spirit. And there's no question that the privilege of playing with John and Peter gives much food for thought!
At night instead of worrying about the arrangements the next day (Do we know where the course is? Do we have teeing off times? Can we get a buggy? Will the course be crowded?), golfers can retire with the knowledge that John and Peter have organised everything and will be at the hotel to guide the party through the day with one objective in mind - How can we get our 'team' to enjoy the trip more?
